Who packs it
We pack every box ourselves, a short drive from the harbour.
Jess and I pack every box ourselves, Monday to Friday, at our bench in Sydney. Australia does distance its own way: a swing on site, a semester away, family a long drive or a flight off.
If someone you love lives a long way off, there’s a good chance they won’t tell you the hard parts. The new life looks great on the phone. The quiet Tuesdays don’t make the call.
You order from wherever you are, we hand-pack it here in Sydney, and Australia Post takes it to their door.

Is this a hamper?
Yes, the kind they keep. Each box is a hamper of treats and gifts chosen around one person: sweets, truffles, shortbread or popcorn alongside keepsakes like an A3 print, a crochet companion or a candle. It comes in a gift box rather than a wicker basket, hand-packed in Sydney and delivered free within Australia.
What's in it?
It depends on the box. The Hug Away From Home has Marc de Champagne truffles, Candy Kittens sweets, a soy candle, bath soak, a crochet companion and an A3 print. Each box page lists every item, with ingredients and options.
Can I choose what goes in?
Yes, two ways. On each box page you choose the details, like the candle scent, the crochet character and the print. Or start from scratch in the Gift Builder and pick every item yourself.
Will they have to pay anything at the door?
No. Delivery is included and free on every box, so there is nothing to pay when it arrives.
Will the treats survive the heat?
Everything’s packed in Sydney and travels within Australia, so it’s in transit for days, not weeks. If anything arrives melted in a heatwave, tell us and we’ll put it right.
How long does delivery take?
We hand-pack Monday to Friday in Sydney, then allow 2-5 business days after dispatch, to most areas. WA, NT, Tasmania and regional or remote addresses can take longer. These are estimates, so allow extra time for a birthday or Christmas. Our Christmas order dates are on our Christmas gift boxes page.
What if they’re not home?
Australia Post will usually leave it in a safe place, or leave a card so they can collect it from their local Post Office. If you add wine, someone 18 or over has to sign for it, so it can’t be left in a safe place.
Can I track it?
Yes. We send tracking to you, the sender, and email you when it’s delivered. If you add their email when you write your message, we’ll email them too as soon as Australia Post marks it as delivered.
What if it arrives damaged?
Email hello@sameskies.com.au with your order number, and a photo if you can. We’ll put it right with a replacement or a refund.
Do I need their phone number?
No. Checkout asks for their name and Australian address, not a phone number. Add their unit or apartment number if they have one.
Will they know it’s from me?
Yes. Add your message (it’s free) and it opens on their phone when they scan the QR code on the premium card in the box, with an optional photo or video. The price is never shown to them.
How long can my message be?
Up to 280 characters, free. An optional photo or video opens from the same QR code with a phrase you choose, and they can replay it for around six months.
Can I send a hamper to a mine site or camp?
Yes, as long as the site takes parcels. Add their full name, the site or camp name and their room or block. Many camps don't allow candles or alcohol, so pick For Him (no candle) or build your own, and skip the wine. Not sure what the site accepts? Send it home so it's waiting on their days off.
